The story

Finland won the men’s European Curling Championship in Oberstdorf, Germany, beating Denmark 8–7 in the final. The event took place from 9 to 16 December 2000 at the Eislaufzentrum.

How it unfolded

Markku Uusipaavalniemi’s team finished with eleven wins and no defeats. The Finnish roster also included Wille Mäkelä, Tommi Häti, Jari Laukkanen and Pekka Saarelainen. Denmark, represented by Ulrik Schmidt’s Hvidovre team, finished 8–3.
