Result

Adam Malysz of Poland won the men's individual large-hill World Cup event at Willingen on 4 February 2001 with 316.0 points. Finland's Risto Jussilainen was second on 279.5, 36.5 points behind, and Matti Hautamaeki took third with 266.6.

Competition detail

The result changed the order at the top after Ville Kantee had defeated Malysz in the previous day's individual contest. In Sunday's final classification, Kantee shared ninth with Stefan Horngacher on 255.6 points. Malysz therefore left the final individual competition with a victory of his own rather than another runner-up result.

Japan placed two jumpers immediately behind the podium: Noriaki Kasai scored 265.9 for fourth and Hideharu Miyahira 265.7 for fifth. Their 0.2-point separation contrasted with the 36.5-point winning margin. Germany's Martin Schmitt was sixth with 259.7, just ahead of Wolfgang Loitzl on 259.5.

Context and dates

The FIS result identifies this as race JP 141, and its Willingen programme assigns it to 4 February. The competition is distinct from the meeting's team result and the 3 February individual result. The archive retains the exact historical event date while keeping its modern addition timestamp separate.
