World Athletics opens nominations for its 2027 elections
The federation published the timetable and vetting route for president, vice-president and Council positions.

World Athletics launched the nomination process for the Council elections to be held at its 2027 Elective Congress in Beijing. The process covers the presidency, four vice-presidents and 13 individual Council members.
Candidates must pass the federation’s vetting process before nomination by a member federation, making eligibility review part of the published election timetable.
