Mikaela Shiffrin won the World Cup slalom in Špindlerův Mlýn for the 108th victory of her career. The result added another race win to the sport's all-time record and secured the season's slalom Crystal Globe before the campaign was complete.
That ninth discipline title moved Shiffrin beyond the discipline-globe totals associated with Lindsey Vonn and Ingemar Stenmark. The January result therefore carried two layers of significance: another competition win and a new career measure of consistency within a single technical discipline.
