Rangers turn Miami's Winter Classic into a record night
Mika Zibanejad recorded the first Winter Classic hat trick and five points as New York beat Florida 5-1 in the NHL's first outdoor game in the state.

The New York Rangers defeated the Florida Panthers 5-1 at loanDepot park in front of 36,153 spectators. Mika Zibanejad scored three times and added two assists, setting an NHL outdoor-game record for points and producing the first hat trick in Winter Classic history.
Artemi Panarin added two goals and an assist, Alexis Lafrenière supplied three assists and Igor Shesterkin made 36 saves. The result kept New York perfect across six outdoor games and marked the first NHL outdoor fixture staged in Florida.
