World Rugby opens nominations for two Executive Board seats
Eligible unions may nominate successors to Mark Alexander and Bart Campbell before a World Rugby Council ballot in Dublin on 19 November.
World Rugby confirmed on 2 October that eligible unions had been invited to nominate candidates for two open Executive Board positions. The places will become vacant when South African Rugby Union president Mark Alexander and New Zealand representative Bart Campbell step down following the November Board meeting.
The federation said the World Rugby Council will elect the successors by ballot at its meeting in Dublin on 19 November. Eligible candidates must be Council members from Australia, Argentina, South Africa or New Zealand, with nominees due to be confirmed by the end of October after vetting.
World Rugby's published Bye-Laws separately establish the Council's role in electing representatives to the Executive Board. This report records the confirmed opening of the nomination process, not an election outcome, and does not speculate about candidates.
