Can Maxim Mutaf was born on 9 January 1991 and began his senior career with Fenerbahçe in 2006. Bahçeşehir's official profile credits him with three Turkish league championships and two Turkish Cups during his Fenerbahçe years, which also included loan spells through 2013.
Mutaf moved to Trabzonspor for 2013–14 and subsequently represented Bandırma, Anadolu Efes, Beşiktaş, Bursaspor, Darüşşafaka and Büyükçekmece. The 193-centimetre Türkiye international joined Bahçeşehir Koleji in 2023 and remains on the current roster as number 17 guard.
