Ergün Bilmez
Former volleyball setter and Beşiktaş men's assistant coach.
Life and work
The story behind the role.
Ergün Bilmez is a former volleyball setter who moved into coaching. Contemporary volleyball reporting identifies him as a former Beşiktaş player and a long-serving İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor setter before his work with MEF Schools and Beşiktaş.
Beşiktaş announced in July 2009 that Bilmez would serve as assistant coach to Osman Kahraman after already completing the previous season on the men's staff. The club's current men's volleyball directory again lists him as assistant coach, documenting a coaching connection that spans more than one period.
A dated 2009 roster source records Bilmez as a 1974-born setter. The birth year is retained only as an archive detail and is not used to infer any unverified personal history.
