Gökhan Özsavaş was named chair of the Turkish National Paralympic Committee’s Athlete Safeguarding Board in January 2026. The committee’s announcement places athlete protection and athlete-centred development among the new boards’ responsibilities.
He has also chaired the Turkish Football Federation’s Representatives Board. A federation report from September 2023 records his meetings with public-security officials on problems at football matches, implementation of sports-security legislation, cooperation between police and the federation, and private-security training. The Turkish Association of Retired Police Chiefs identifies him as its İstanbul branch chair and publishes his individual portrait.
