Life and work
The story behind the role.
Gülhan Erdem Subak graduated in biology from Ankara University in 2012, completed a master's degree at its Stem Cell Institute in 2016 and finished a sport-science doctorate in 2020. His professional biography links his interest in sport genetics to observations made while refereeing football.
After work in car rental during 2019–2020, he joined İstanbul Esenyurt University in November 2020 and later led its coaching-education department. He moved to Iğdır University in June 2023, received the associate-professor title in movement and training sciences in April 2024 and became a faculty vice dean in September 2025.
The university journal lists him as deputy chief editor, with research interests including genetics, biology and exercise physiology.
