His professional biography states that he graduated from Ege University’s medical faculty in 1993 and completed sports-medicine specialty training there between 1997 and 2001. He undertook sports-rehabilitation work at the University of Pittsburgh’s Sports Medicine Center in 2001 and subsequently worked as a sports-medicine specialist at Ege.
In 2003 he helped establish the sports-medicine centre at İzmir’s hand microsurgery, orthopaedics and traumatology hospital, where his biography records five years of work.
