Life and work

Murat Baş completed his nutrition and dietetics bachelor’s degree at Hacettepe University in 1994, followed by a master’s degree in 1997 and a doctorate in 2002. His academic career includes appointments at Başkent University and a professorship in Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University’s Nutrition and Dietetics Department beginning in 2013.
His documented postgraduate supervision includes research on elite footballers’ nutrition knowledge, nutrition and illness or injury frequency in youth basketball players, and development of an athlete food-security measure. His record also connects him to sports nutrition postgraduate programs. His doctorate concerned food microbiology, illustrating the broader food-safety and dietetics background behind his later sports nutrition supervision.
