Life and work
The story behind the role.
Nihan Karataş graduated in physical therapy and rehabilitation from Başkent University in 2008 and completed a sports physiotherapy master’s degree at Hacettepe University in 2010. Her Gazi University record also documents a doctorate in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, with a 2013 thesis investigating the histological effects of kinesio taping on soft tissue after trauma.
Her master’s research examined taping, musculoskeletal pain and functional performance among surgeons. Her subsequent supervision includes a project on dynamic taping and vertical jumping in adolescent volleyball players with low medial longitudinal arches. Gazi University records her appointment as professor in 2022. Her sports connection is supported by specialist education and athlete-focused postgraduate supervision.
