The story behind the role.
Collina progressed through Italy’s refereeing system while completing a degree in economics. His calm authority and preparation took him to the highest levels of club and international football.
After retiring from on-field refereeing, he moved into leadership and became FIFA’s Chief Refereeing Officer and chair of the FIFA Referees Committee.
