Şefik Aygöl

Life and work

The story behind the role.

Şefik Aygöl is listed by the Türkiye Rugby Federation as deputy president on its current board page, reviewed on 10 October 2026.

The board appointment gives Şefik Aygöl a documented national governing-body responsibility within rugby federation governance; it does not by itself establish an unlisted playing, coaching or officiating career.

The federation's September 2024 election reporting independently places this name on the board elected with president Nahit Şahin.

Tunceli's official government biography identifies Aygöl as a Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law graduate, a Management and Organisation master's graduate of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, and a career civil administrator who began as a district-governor candidate in 2001. It records service as Bilecik governor from 2023 to 2025 and appointment as Tunceli governor effective 3 June 2025.

The same biography documents earlier district-governor and deputy-governor appointments, management of national and local-government programmes, and a year of professional and language study at the University of Exeter in 2003–04. These public-administration facts are kept separate from his federation board role.
