Life and work
The story behind the role.
Soner Akkurt graduated in medicine from Çukurova University in 1990 and completed medical specialty training at Bursa Uludağ University during 1992–1996. His specialty thesis investigated daily variation in oxygen debt and oxygen deficit. Erciyes University lists him in its Sports Medicine department.
His institutional CV records participation in a FIMS Team Physician Development Course in 2009 and Turkish Football Federation continuing education for club health teams in 2006. The university also documents departmental leadership beginning in 2013. His career combines sports medicine teaching and clinical research with education aimed specifically at the medical support of athletes. His CV also records general-secretary service for the Turkish Sports Medicine Association during 2013–2019.
