Life and work
The story behind the role.
Grey-Thompson represented Great Britain across five Paralympic Games in a racing career spanning more than 16 years. She became known for success across sprint and middle-distance events as well as the road marathon.
After retiring, she continued to work across broadcasting, sport and disability rights. She became a crossbench member of the House of Lords in 2010.
