What the publication reports

Twenty randomised trials included 362 athletes. The overall effect was small-to-moderate (standardised mean difference 0.46), with favourable pooled estimates for jump, sprint, change-of-direction and maximal explosive-power outcomes.

Limits and interpretation

Samples and protocols were small and heterogeneous, and moderator thresholds were exploratory. The review does not establish a universally safe pressure, cuff setup or rehabilitation prescription; clinical screening and supervision remain relevant.
