What the publication reports
Thirteen randomised trials included 490 athletes. Interventions lasted 4–12 weeks and included balance, plyometric and neuromuscular approaches. The synthesis supported improvements across measures of function and stability, assessed using patient reports and physical tests.
Limits and interpretation
