What the publication reports
The FAIR consensus provides 56 recommendations covering primary and secondary prevention, modifiable risk factors, implementation and supportive sporting environments. It also addresses access to resources and the under-representation of women and girls in research.
Limits and interpretation
The strength of supporting evidence differs between recommendations. Findings should be interpreted within each sport and population, rather than as one universal programme.
