What the publication reports
Thirteen trials included 13,675 athletes. Programmes were associated with fewer overall injuries (risk ratio 0.65), lower-limb injuries (0.67), ACL injuries (0.62) and ankle injuries (0.59) in pooled analyses.
Limits and interpretation
Cluster adjustments and adherence reporting were incomplete, programmes and sports varied, and dose-response analyses were exploratory. Low-certainty group estimates do not guarantee protection for an individual athlete.
