This review examines whether adding core-strength work changes throwing, jumping and running performance in handball players.

What the publication reports
Eight randomized trials with 226 players were included. Average throwing and jumping outcomes improved, while jump-throw and sprint outcomes did not show clear benefits.
Limits and interpretation
The evidence base was small and interventions and tests varied. Duration subgroup findings were exploratory and do not establish an optimal programme or causal threshold.
