What the publication reports
Across 10,124 participants, the review found lower pooled injury risk and improvements in jumping, sprinting, direction changes and balance. The injury risk ratio was 0.73 (95% confidence interval 0.58–0.91). Only eight trials contributed to the injury analysis.
Limits and interpretation
Injury evidence was rated low certainty and results varied substantially. Subgroup signals do not establish an optimal dose or prove that one athlete group benefits more.
