What the publication reports
Eight studies included 108 participants and several loading methods. Five reported stronger respiratory muscles, two improved respiratory endurance and three better exercise capacity.
Limits and interpretation
The small, varied evidence base does not establish respiratory training as a primary way to improve sport performance. Technique, impairment and outcome differences limit generalization.
