What the publication reports
Twenty-two quantitative studies reported associations between functional classification, trunk or upper-body function, propulsion and sport performance. Prospective surveillance also documented injury and illness burdens.
Limits and interpretation
Mostly observational designs, small samples and varied sports prevent causal claims or a single best-practice programme. Findings from one impairment group or wheelchair sport should not automatically transfer to another.
