Bayern plans Holocaust remembrance across its club
Matchday messages, community events and museum activities formed the club’s January remembrance programme.
Source publication date:
FC Bayern outlined a series of remembrance activities around International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Its Bundesliga home match against Augsburg would carry the Never Again message, with a pre-match team banner and clips on the stadium screens remembering victims of Nazi rule.
The club also continued its involvement in the We Remember campaign, which it has supported since 2016. Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen represented Bayern in the 2026 initiative around the 27 January anniversary of Auschwitz’s liberation.
Community work extended beyond the stadium. Bayern’s Red Against Racism programme and Munich’s Jewish community arranged a Shabbat event for club members, while the museum offered tours examining the Nazi period and included the TEENS club in the programme for the first time.
