Source publication date:
Brisbane Bullets confirmed the departures of assistant coaches Darryl McDonald and Greg Vanderjagt after the NBL26 season. Their exits followed the appointment of Will Weaver as head coach and president of basketball operations, with a new coaching staff to be assembled.
Club chief executive Malcolm Watts acknowledged the assistants' contributions over several years. He described both as respected within the playing group, staff and Brisbane community, and thanked them for their dedication to the basketball programme during their time with the organisation.
McDonald had also served as interim head coach after Stu Lash's departure. Brisbane ended the season with six victories from thirty-three games and finished bottom of the standings, providing the competitive context for Weaver's planned changes to the coaching structure.
