Cotton discusses potential Australia 3x3 debut
The Adelaide guard had spoken with coach Forde about the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Source publication date:
Bryce Cotton said he had discussed a possible appearance for Australia’s 3x3 team with coach Adam Forde ahead of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The Adelaide guard had obtained Australian citizenship in September and described representing his adopted country as an appealing opportunity.
Cotton had not committed to the July–August competition and said he was still enjoying his latest NBL MVP award. He also expressed interest in future Olympic and World Cup possibilities, following earlier citizenship-related barriers to national selection.
Forde’s approach concerned the Gangurrus, whose recent record included Asia Cup gold and Champions Cup bronze. The February interview established that talks had occurred while making clear that Cotton’s participation remained undecided and dependent on how his plans developed.
