Barcelona and Fermín agree an extension to 2031
The new agreement added two seasons to the midfielder’s contract.
Source publication date:
Barcelona announced an agreement with Fermín López to extend and improve his contract until 30 June 2031. The two-season extension was to be formally signed in the following days at president Joan Laporta’s office.
Fermín joined Barcelona in the summer of 2016 at the age of thirteen after growing up in El Campillo, Huelva. He progressed through the academy before a loan to Linares Deportivo in 2022 helped him prepare for senior football.
The club’s statement highlighted his attacking contributions, late runs into the penalty area and defensive commitment. It presented the longer agreement as a continuation of a relationship built through La Masia and his subsequent emergence as a significant first-team midfielder.
