FIDE sets winter training courses for chess educators
Online teacher and lecturer courses extend FIDE’s education programme into March.

FIDE’s Chess in Education Commission published its January-to-March training programme for teachers and lecturers. The online courses are intended to strengthen educational chess delivery, with different pathways for classroom instructors and people who prepare other teachers.
Preparation of Teachers courses run for three days and comprise fifteen hours of instruction. They cover teaching methods, practical classroom activities and digital resources, and provide a route towards FIDE’s School Instructor title for participants who meet the requirements.
Russian and Arabic teacher courses were scheduled for January 16 to 18, followed by another course on January 23 to 25. A French-language course was set for March 6 to 8, while lecturer training supports the Lecturer and Senior Lecturer titles.
