FIDE representatives visited Ulaanbaatar to discuss social and educational chess activity in Mongolia. The delegation included Social Commission chair André Vögtlin and Chess for Freedom founder Mikhail Korenman, who met national officials and local programme organisers.

Deputy prime minister Khassuuri Gankhuyag received the Social Chess Year Award during the visit. Discussions involving Mongolian Chess Federation deputy president Galbadrakh Janchiv and parliamentary representatives addressed opportunities to strengthen the game’s role in the country’s educational and social work.

AB Chess Academy and Steinitz Academy presented youth programmes to the visitors. These meetings gave the delegation an opportunity to examine existing local projects and explore cooperation, with the article highlighting both institutional support and the work of organisations teaching young players.
