The International Luge Federation announced World Luge Day activities for January 18, with events across the surrounding weekend. The campaign invited families, athletes and clubs to share their experiences from January 12 to 20.

Beginner opportunities included coached recreational sledding around Berchtesgaden and an open practice in Skelleftea. Austria’s Tyrolean association scheduled safe sledding courses for fifteen third-grade classes, teaching braking, steering, equipment use and track rules during January 19–23.

The announcement also described Japanese wooden-sled events, family activities at American Olympic venues and Poland’s first Open Alpine Luge Championships on January 24. These programmes linked access to the sport with practical instruction and community participation across several national associations.
