The 2027 World Archery Para Championships were moved from Canberra to the Gold Coast after a successful bid by Archery Australia and the Queensland Government. The Gold Coast Performance Centre was named as the venue.
The championships were scheduled for 30 August–6 September 2027, with around 300 athletes from 50 countries expected. Recurve, compound, W1 and visually impaired events would form the competition programme.
The event was expected to contribute to the qualification pathway for the LA28 Paralympics and mark Australia’s first major international para archery championship. The July announcement confirmed the host change, with the tournament itself still a future event.
