Volleyball mourns former European federation president Aleksandar Boricic
FIVB reported the death of the Serbian administrator in Belgrade at seventy-eight.

Aleksandar Boricic, a former FIVB executive vice president and European Volleyball Confederation president, died in Belgrade on 4 March aged seventy-eight. His career encompassed playing, coaching and administration at national, regional, continental and international levels.
Boricic played 103 matches for Yugoslavia between 1969 and 1978 and won European Championship bronze in 1975. He subsequently led the federations of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, and Serbia, before serving as CEV president from October 2015 until August 2024.
He joined FIVB's board in 2002 and its executive committee in 2006, later becoming second executive vice president. Boricic also founded the Balkan Volleyball Association in 1998 and received FIVB's Grand Cross distinction in 2022 for his contribution to the sport.
