Arsenal win the first FIFA Women’s Champions Cup

Arsenal beat Corinthians 3-2 after extra time in London to become the inaugural women’s intercontinental club champions.

The first FIFA Women’s Champions Cup final brought the champions of UEFA and CONMEBOL together at Arsenal Stadium. Arsenal’s 3-2 extra-time win over Corinthians placed an English club at the top of the new global club competition.

The tournament added a new international layer to women’s club football and created a direct competitive bridge between continental champions.
