IOC President Kirsty Coventry joined athletes at the Milano Cortina Olympic Village to sign the Olympic Truce Mural as the torch relay approached Milan.
The ceremony placed sport diplomacy inside the Games programme by linking athlete participation with the Olympic Movement’s public peace commitment.
