Fenerbahçe edge Körfez 85–84 on Larkin’s competitive debut
Horton-Tucker scored 22 and Juzang 21 as Fenerbahçe held off a late comeback in Istanbul.
Fenerbahçe Tarfin defeated Biotekno Körfez Basket 85–84 at Ülker Sports and Event Hall on 4 October in the second week of the Turkish Basketball Super League. Talen Horton-Tucker finished with 22 points and Johnny Juzang with 21; Onuralp Bitim added 13.
The hosts led 25–18 after the opening quarter, 45–44 at half-time and 68–55 after three quarters. Körfez recovered in the final period, but the one-point margin survived the last possessions. Anadolu Agency’s report describes a missed late attempt by Filip Barna after a defensive rebound.
The game also marked Shane Larkin’s first competitive appearance for Fenerbahçe following his move from Anadolu Efes, according to the agency report. He scored three points. The match was officiated by Yener Yılmaz, Nazlı Çisil Güngör and Berk Kurtulmuş; the officials are part of the match record alongside its players.
