Pospisil's late goal lifts Flames past Ducks 4-2
Martin Pospisil broke a third-period tie as Calgary earned its first win of the season at Anaheim on 13 October.
Calgary beat Anaheim 4-2 at Honda Center on 13 October 2026 for its first victory of the season. Martin Pospisil scored the go-ahead goal at 15:38 of the third period, and Yegor Sharangovich sealed the result with an empty-net goal at 18:38.
Adam Klapka had given the Flames an early lead, but Anaheim answered through Beckett Sennecke and Leo Carlsson to lead 2-1 at the first intermission. Sennecke scored on a breakaway and Carlsson converted on the power play.
Aydar Suniev tied the game at 8:02 of the second period and finished with a goal and an assist. Neither team scored again until Pospisil's late shot from the left circle put Calgary ahead. The final empty-net goal meant Anaheim could not turn its extra attacker into an equaliser.
The Flames moved to 1-5-0 and the Ducks to 4-2-0. Calgary's first win, Suniev's contribution and the deciding goal are reported together as one completed result. The official team recap and independent AP final account corroborate the outcome; no disputed goalkeeper save total is used.
