Hagel hat trick lifts Lightning past Islanders 5–3
Brandon Hagel broke a late tie and completed his fourth NHL hat trick as Tampa Bay won its fourth straight game.
The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the New York Islanders 5–3 at UBS Arena in Elmont on 10 October 2026. The NHL’s completed report records Tampa Bay’s fourth consecutive victory.
Brandon Hagel had three goals and one assist. He broke a 3–3 tie at 18:16 of the third period and completed the fourth hat trick of his NHL career with an empty-net goal 21 seconds later.
Jake Guentzel scored Tampa Bay’s other two goals. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 20 saves and earned his 373rd career victory, moving ahead of Andy Moog for 20th on the NHL goaltending wins list.
