Chess education conference opens with Armenian university agreement
A signed memorandum links the International School Chess Federation with the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

The international scientific conference Theory and Practice of Chess Education opened in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia, on 1 October. Running through 2 October alongside the European stage of the World Schools Chess Championship, it brings specialists together to examine teaching methods and the use of chess in educational settings.
The opening included a memorandum of understanding between the International School Chess Federation and the Armenian State Pedagogical University. Andrey Vodianov represented the federation and Lilit Mkrtchyan represented the university. The signed agreement establishes an institutional link for chess education initiatives.
Smbat Lputyan, director of the Chess Scientific Research Institute, addressed chess’s connections with sport, science, education, art and culture. FIDE’s account confirms the conference opening and agreement. It does not supply experimental results or establish that chess instruction causes a particular educational benefit; those questions require the relevant research evidence.
