World Gymnastics and Israel settle dispute over the 2025 World Championships
The agreement ends the related CAS proceedings after Israel’s delegation missed the Jakarta competition.
World Gymnastics and the Israel Gymnastics Federation announced a settlement on 14 October over the Israeli delegation’s non-participation in the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta. The governing body said the related Court of Arbitration for Sport proceedings had ended.
The announcement confirms a new legal stage in a dispute arising from last year’s competition. It does not announce a revised medal table, a replay of the championships or a new disciplinary ruling. The parties said they would make no further comment on the settlement’s terms, leaving any financial or other arrangements undisclosed in the release.
World Gymnastics reiterated its commitment to fair, inclusive and non-discriminatory competition access for eligible athletes. The agreement comes before the next Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, scheduled for 17–25 October in Rotterdam. That upcoming competition is separate from the concluded proceedings over Jakarta 2025.
