EJ Obiena retained the men's pole vault title at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. With the gold already secured, the Filipino cleared 5.91 metres on his only attempt at the height despite wet conditions.

The mark improved by one centimetre the Asian Games record Obiena set in Hangzhou in 2023. China's Yao Jie took silver and Li Chenyang bronze after both cleared 5.70 metres, with Yao ranked higher on countback.

The Olympic Council of Asia's official report confirms the completed podium, record height and sequence of clearances. Obiena did not attempt to improve his 6.00-metre Asian record after the winning jump.
