Li Wenwen wins her first Asian Games gold
China's double Olympic champion lifted 310 kilograms in Nagoya, setting Games records in the snatch and total.
Li Wenwen won the women's +86kg weightlifting title at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, adding the only major senior gold that had been missing from the double Olympic champion's record. The Chinese lifter posted 140kg in the snatch and 170kg in the clean and jerk for a 310kg total.
The 140kg snatch and 310kg total were Asian Games records. South Korea's Park Hye-jeong took silver with 300kg, while Qatar's Ouisal Ikhlef earned bronze with 273kg.
The Olympic Council of Asia confirmed the completed podium and Li's first Asian Games title. Reuters independently reported the same lifts, medal order and Games-record marks.
