Japan's Yuki Kurihara won the Asian Games Puyo Puyo Champions title at age 11, becoming the youngest gold medallist in the history of the continental multi-sport event. He beat Korea's Kang Dongshin 10-2 in the final after losing the opening game.

Kurihara had defeated Thailand's Tanarak Wongkitikun 10-1 in the semi-final. The result gave the host nation its first esports gold of the 2026 Games and placed a youth competitor at the centre of an open-age medal event.

The result was published by the Olympic Council of Asia and independently reported by the Associated Press. Both sources identify Kurihara as the 11-year-old winner of the completed final.
