The story behind the role.
Hayes built her coaching career across England and the United States before beginning a 12-year spell at Chelsea in 2012. She developed the team into a dominant force in English women’s football.
She became head coach of the United States women’s national team in 2024 and led the side to Olympic gold in Paris in her first major tournament in charge.
