Christian Castellano won the men's European Cup slalom in Krompachy-Plejsy on 7 January 2000 with a final total of 1:40.58. France's Gaëtan Llorach finished second, 0.66 seconds behind, and Austria's Mario Matt took third at 0.79. The runner-up and third-place finisher were separated by 0.13 seconds.
Markus Larsson of Sweden followed in fourth at 0.96 seconds, making him the final athlete within one second of Castellano. Japan's Gaku Hirasawa was fifth at 1.37 and France's Julien Lizeroux sixth at 1.87. The first five places represented five different national teams, giving the leading group a broad international spread.
The slalom was the concluding race in the venue's two-day men's European Cup programme. It followed the 6 January giant slalom but had its own final result and winner.
