The final result

Emily Brydon won the women's European Cup slalom at Rogla on 9 January 2000 by just 0.03 seconds. The Canadian's final total of 1:45.11 narrowly beat Noriyo Hiroi of Japan. Austria's Karin Truppe placed third at 0.16 seconds, so all three podium positions were contained within less than two tenths.

Carolina Waidhofer-Dummer finished fourth, 0.29 seconds from Brydon, followed by Elisabeth Görgl at 0.44 and Katja Wirth at 0.48. Austria occupied four consecutive positions from third to sixth. The final classification shows how little separated the leading racers: half a second covered the first six, despite the different national teams at the front.

The completed slalom was the second discipline in Rogla's two-day women's European Cup programme, following the previous day's giant slalom. Brydon's result supplied a Canadian winner after Slovenia had taken the giant-slalom victory. Each race had a distinct official classification; the three-hundredths margin describes this slalom alone and does not refer to ranking points or an overall event aggregate.
