The final result
Konrad Hari won the second men's European Cup downhill at Les Orres on 27 January 2000. The Swiss racer's 1:20.36 put him 0.35 seconds ahead of Italy's Ivan Bormolini. Austria's Roland Assinger was third, 0.47 seconds behind Hari and 0.12 behind Bormolini.
Christoph Gruber finished fourth at 0.55 seconds. Thomas Franz and Klaus Kröll were jointly fifth, both 0.97 seconds from the winner, so the leading six athletes occupied five ranking positions. Austria supplied four athletes in that group. All six were within a second of Hari's winning time, with a tied result preserved for Franz and Kröll.
Hari had finished third in the previous day's separate downhill and moved to first in this race. Bormolini improved from fourth to second, while Assinger moved from fifth to third. Gruber, a joint winner of the opening downhill, was fourth in the new classification. This result completed the pair of downhills at Les Orres before the 28 January super-G; it is reported independently rather than as a combined two-day elapsed time.
