The final result
Emily Brydon won the women's European Cup downhill at Haus im Ennstal on 19 January 2000. The Canadian completed the race in 1:27.44, beating Austria's Martina Lechner by 0.43 seconds. Another Austrian, Veronika Thanner, was third at 0.47, only four hundredths behind Lechner.
Alison Powers of the United States placed fourth, 0.79 seconds from Brydon, followed by Austria's Kerstin Reisenhofer at 0.86. Norway's Lisa Bremseth finished sixth at 1.07. Austria occupied three positions among the first five at its home venue, but the winning time belonged to Brydon, ahead of the closely matched Austrian podium pair.
The race was the first of two classified women's downhills in the Haus European Cup programme. A second downhill took place on 20 January before the super-G on 21 January. Brydon had won a European Cup slalom in Rogla earlier in the month; this new victory came in the downhill discipline. The result therefore adds a separate completed speed-race outcome rather than a combined total for the meeting.
