René Reisshauer won the men's 30km classical race at the FIS Junior World Ski Championships in Štrbské Pleso on 30 January 2000. The German finished in 1:36:37.5, with Vassili Rotchev second at 25.7 seconds and Dmitri Tichkine third at 48.6. The course consisted of four 7.5km laps on the Cervena track. Reisshauer also led the listed 15km split in 47:23.0. Evgeni Lukanov finished fourth at 1:33.5, Ron Spanuth fifth at 2:17.6 and Espen Harald Bjerke sixth at 3:05.6. Russia took three consecutive positions from second to fourth, while Germany held first and fifth.
